<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The circadian rhythm of endogenous hormones testosterone and cortisol was studied in breeding bulls on the day of semen collection, according to a daily schedule. The experiment was conducted at the L.K. Ernst Federal Research Center for Animal Husbandry in the Moscow Region on black-and-white Holstein breeding bulls aged 3-5 years, during their most active period of use.Serum testosterone and cortisol concentrations (nmol/L) were determined in duplicate in the breeding bulls (n=5) on the day of semen collection, according to a daily schedule (six times per day).Domestic reagents from Immunotech CJSC, Moscow, were used. Analysis was performed on a Uniplan AFG-01 spectrometer (Pikon CJSC, Russia). The novelty lies in the fact that for the first time, the circadian rhythm of breeding bulls (n=5) was studied on a daily basis, taking into account their daily routine on the day of semen collection, using testosterone and cortisol dynamics to determine the possible influence of daily routine on the concentration of these hormones throughout the day. After a long winter period, cortisol concentrations peak during the spring equinox, during the preparation of the breeding bull for semen collection and during semen collection, between 10:00 and 12:00 a.m. (in sexually dominant conditions). The lowest level was observed during the resting period from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. the following morning, when the night's rest begins.Testosterone levels were highest between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. during preparation for semen collection in breeding bulls. A correlation has been established between cortisol and testosterone; an increase in the concentration of these hormones occurs simultaneously during the period of semen collection in breeding bulls, and then there is a gradual decrease.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>эндогенные гормоны</kwd><kwd>взятие семени</kwd><kwd>суточный режим</kwd><kwd>распорядок дня</kwd><kwd>циркадный ритм</kwd><kwd>быки-производители</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>endogenous hormones</kwd><kwd>semen collection</kwd><kwd>daily routine</kwd><kwd>daily schedule</kwd><kwd>circadian rhythm</kwd><kwd>breeding bulls</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group xml:lang="ru"><funding-statement>Работа выполнена в рамках государственного задания при финансовой поддержке Минобрнауки № 1240202000127-7 (FGGN-2024-0014).</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Абилов А. С.
