<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The paper examines the need to monitor and define the spectrum of clinically significant microorganisms of the genus Staphylococcus and their biological properties for the rational use of strategies for the prevention or treatment of infectious mastitis in lactating cows. Based on literature sources and our own research, bacteria of the genus Staphylococcus were identified as significant microorganisms (due to the high percentage of their isolation in milk - 90.9%) among gram-positive bacteria. The species spectrum of bacteria of the genus Staphylococcus from mastitic milk of lactating cows was determined: Staphylococcus aureus (n = 50), Staphylococcus intermedius (n = 20), Staphylococcus epidermidis (n = 15), Staphylococcus haemolyticus (n = 10), Staphylococcus сhromogenes (n = 5). Hemolysis in 80%, mannitol cleavage in 82%, lecithinase activity in 75%, and plasma coagulation in 100% of cases were detected in Staphylococcus aureus. Hemolysis in 75%, mannitol cleavage in 82%, lecithinase activity in 75%, and plasma coagulation in 100% were detected in Staphylococcus intermedius, making them clinically significant for identification. Staphylococci were found to be capable of forming biofilms, as determined by the level of crystalline gentian violet binding to daily cultures of isolated bacteria. Staphylococcus aureus (80%) and Staphylococcus intermedius (75%) were clinically significant as causative agents of infectious mastitis in lactating cows.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>бактерии рода Staphylococcus</kwd><kwd>микроорганизмы</kwd><kwd>изоляты</kwd><kwd>инфекционный мастит</kwd><kwd>биологических</kwd><kwd>патогенных</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Staphylococcus bacteria</kwd><kwd>microorganisms</kwd><kwd>isolates</kwd><kwd>infectious mastitis</kwd><kwd>biological</kwd><kwd>pathogenic</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Закон Российской Федерации "О ветеринарии" от 14.05.1993 N 4979-1 (ред.
