Abstract

The article analyzes changes in veterinary legislation on marking and registration of farm animals and birds using digital technologies.
The collection and analysis of information on registered animals is carried out in order to ensure traceability of the life cycle of animals and to obtain prompt access to information for participants in the production of products of animal origin.
Data from Rosselkhoznadzor on the number of farm animals and birds registered in the Federal State Information System VetIS were analyzed.
It has been established that the introduction of animal registration and marking is necessary to prevent the spread of contagious diseases, including those common to humans and animals, as well as to promptly identify and locate their source. Animal registration is a key element of the country's epizootic security. Therefore, the movement, slaughter, and export of animals is currently only possible if they are registered in the Horriot component.
