Abstract

The article presents the results of a comprehensive three-year (2021–2023) study of the veterinary service activities in the Irkutsk District. Based on a retrospective analysis of official reporting, laboratory diagnostic data (over 227 thousand samples), and economic indicators, a multivariate assessment of epizootic and economic effectiveness was conducted. It was established that the optimization of the monitoring system led to an increase in the effectiveness of pathogen detection: a 3.8% increase in sample volume was accompanied by an increase in the detection rate of positive results. The total prevented economic damage is estimated at 99.3 million rubles. High profitability of measures for the elimination of disease foci was revealed (efficiency coefficient 3.01). Despite an overall reduction in the population of farm animals by 10.1%, positive structural dynamics in cattle breeding were noted: the proportion of cows in the cattle herd increased by 17.7%. The results prove the stability and adaptability of the veterinary control system under the conditions of agro-industrial complex transformation.
