The Differential diagnostic and the effective treatment monitoring of pododermatitis have based on cellular and biochemical markers of inflammation

Abstract

Determination of the routine, qualitative and quantitative indicators of the inflammatory reaction on whole blood or its liquid part is carried out to assess the systemic impact of the pathological process on the macroorganism, as well as to monitor the effectiveness of its treatment. One of the actual topics of modern veterinary medicine is the inflammation skin disease - dermatitis. However, the term “Dermatitis” does not define the localization of the inflammatory process. On the contrary, the skin inflammation of the distal limbs it is usually to called pododermatitis, since this term indicates the localization of pathology in the paws site. In many cases, pododermatitis may be associated with dermatitis, but it is also often found as an independent pathology. Therefore, for the differential diagnosis of dermatitis, pododermatitis and pododermatitis associated with dermatitis, it is necessary to assess the intensity of their inflammatory process by determining the markers of the acute-phase inflammatory. Because of the study, it was found that increase of the markers of the acute-phase inflammatory is observed only in the case of systemic diseases of the skin. On the contrary, under such the local pathologies, as pododermatitis, the indicators of the acute-phase inflammatory in the blood is not increased. Thus, inflammatory pathologies of the distal limbs (pododermatitis) differ from other dermatitis by the predominance of the chronic inflammatory process and the proliferative phenomenon.
